This blog is all about the places I travel to and take photos.
I was burgled today and my camera was stolen. It was a Nikon F100 with serial #2098236, a Nikon AF 24mm f2.8 D lens serial #467499, Nikon 50mm f1.8D lens serial #251091 , Nikon Micro 105mm D lens serial #us4004717 & Speedlight SB 28 serial #2175614. It was in a Cobra LO-98 black & blue photographic bag with various filters, lens hoods, remote release & so on. If anyone comes across this equipment please contact me at mail@andrewDOTnomDOTza or the police.

I went camping at Ferndale this weekend. I have been there a few times before. Its not my favourite place to go camping but it does have some good points like good amenities, lots of space and its cheap. Its actually mainly aimed at off-road enthusiasts and has more 4x4 trails than anyone could possibly ride in one weekend.
We also took the scenic route back and went through Hogsback. I have have never been there before and we only stopped for lunch but it looked like a place worth visiting again and exploring properly.
I went camping at Kommando Drift dam this weekend. It rained heavily throughout Friday night, but Saturday was dry and cloudy. We went on drives through the surrounding wildlife reserve during the day and at night. We saw several different kinds of buck, wildebeest, zebras, giant tortoises, foxes, spring hares and a lot of birds like king fishers, egyptian geese and more. I’m actually not very knowledgeable about birds or animals, plants are more my thing, but I really enjoyed it. The vegetation is typical Karoo with an abundance of my favourite tree, Acacia Karoo. I will definitely go back there.
